No ceiling insulation? When your home loses heat you lose comfort & money
Without insulation, even the best designed and constructed house will allow heat to pass through external surfaces. In winter valuable heat can be lost through the ceiling and walls, while in summer heat can penetrate your home making it hot and uncomfortable. Bradford Gold thermal ceiling insulation keeps the heat out in summer and stops heat from escaping in winter. That’s why insulating your home with Bradford Gold is one of the most comfortable decisions you’ll ever make.
Bradford Gold can also save you up to 70% of the cost of heating and cooling your home, keeping you comfortable and saving you money.

When to install ceiling insulation
Usually, the best time to install thermal ceiling insulation is when the house is being built. The insulation segments are then pushed up snugly between the ceiling joists, after which the plaster can be fixed into place. However, many New Zealand homes didn’t have insulation installed when the houses were built, and as a result, much precious energy is wasted each year warming up and cooling down poorly insulated houses. If you live in a house with no insulation in the ceiling, then you will almost certainly be able to reduce your electricity bills substantially by installing a layer of thermal ceiling insulation. The insulation installer will need to access the roof space via the manhole. Extra care should be observed when working in a ceiling space, as putting a foot wrong can easily result in a hole in the ceiling below and a costly repair bill. Consider using some planks to walk or kneel on, and take extra care when working near wiring. The roof cavity can get very hot in summer time, so the best time to install insulation is in cool weather or early in the morning. If the roof is tiled and if it’s not raining, kicking back some roof tiles will help to light up the ceiling space and also allow some fresh air to circulate in the work area.
Invest in a lifetime of energy savings
Heating and cooling accounts for almost 40% of energy usage in the average home. By stopping up to 70% of all heat transfers, air conditioners and heaters can be used more efficiently with reduced running costs. Thermal ceiling insulation is an investment for the life of your home. Bradford guarantees its insulation for 70 years, meaning you can expect it to last as long as your home, and deliver a lifetime of energy savings.
